The inspiration for the Vitra La Chaise by Charles and Ray Eames was the sculpture “Floating Figure” by Gaston Lachaise. The designer couple originally designed their extravagant armchair for a contest of the Museum of Modern Art New York, and it resulted in one of the more interesting design classics. The gracefully sculpted Vitra Eames lounge chair is one of the icons of furniture design and attracts the attention of all design enthusiasts.
